wildflowers bloom early April through mid-June. Plant
lists arranged by bloom time are available as a reference
guide. The trail is not handicapped accessible and has
some hilly climbing.

The Fern Glen native garden was founded for the preservation
and enjoyment of plants indigenous to the northeastern
United States. Fern Glen includes wetland; deciduous
forest; shrub swamp; bog plants; and a pond with nature
trails, hiking, bird watching. and wild-flowers. A wheelchair-accessible
perennial garden blooms May through October. A greenhouse
is open all year.

A 200-acre expanse of native state flora and fauna including
three rare species of birds, one rare fish, nine rare
plants, and premiere woodland and wetland communities.
A woodland trail of 2.75 miles, with printed guide, takes
visitors through a natural ecosystem adventure. A piece
of native prairie has been relocated and cultivated.

A hands-on nature center with an organic farm and a
350-acre sanctuary. Five miles of hiking trails traverse
a variety of habitats found in southwestern Ohio, including
forest (60 species of trees), wetland, grasses, marsh
and meadow. More than 400 varieties of wildflowers.
Specific plantings attract wildlife. Owned and operated
by the National Audubon Society and the Friends of Aullwood.
A Nature Center sells seeds and how-to books.

Three sites include a nature preserve and two farms.
Open year-round. Rowe Woods is a 790-acre nature preserve,
east of Milford, with 14 miles of hiking trails through
field and forest and two native plant butterfly gardens.
The Interpretive Building has rotating educational exhibits
and a gift shop. In spring, exhibits explain which wildflowers
will be seen on trails. Long Branch Farm is 535 acres
near Goshen, with two miles of hiking trails. Gorman
Heritage Farm is 100 acres situated on a glacial moraine
in Evandale.
